One of my Favorite Shows

I love the show Degrassi!! I hear a lot of people saying how this show is fake and doesn't show what high school is really like and well they are right. It may not show the perfect high school but what goes on in the show can happen in any school. Here at TMA I can name a student and a character on Degrassi and show how they are alike (not throwing subs). Many of the situations that happened on the show happens in real life. Young girls getting pregnant, people receiving threats, friendships being broken, relationships becoming history; this list can go on. For those who don’t know this show takes place in Toronto, Canada so obviously it will be a bit different. Don’t judge things till you take the time to truly watch and observe something.

But anyway I need to talk about this episode.

So one of the characters, Alli, who is a smart black girl got accepted to Cambridge in England but her boyfriend doesn't want her to leave him. Cute right! So she takes the time to research a hockey program for him since he is the best and not he has nothing to worry about. Miles is this boy who out of nowhere turns gay and is going through family issues and decides to smoke weed. After he does he starts changing and skipping school and his boyfriend Tristan thinks he is addicted to weed and wants to help him but everyone knows Miles will hate anyone who tries to help him. Claire is one of the smartest girls in Degrassi and surprise she gets pregnant by an athlete and has to raise a baby yet still wants to go to Columbia University. She decides to keep the baby because she is a cancer survivor and doctors said with her situation she wouldn't be able to have a child so she believes this will be her only chance. Zoe is a girl who has been through a lot such as being a rape victim but I don’t like her because she is the person who thinks it’s all about her and if its not her way she will force it to be her way even if it’s wrong. So her and the young cheerleading squad (most of them are 9^th graders and she is a junior) decide to start this sex website where they take naked pics anonymously and people have to pay to see them (Zoe's idea). They made a lot of money but she is shutting it down because an outsider (outside the cheer squad) knows about it and is sending threats to her phone and the whole squad. Poor girls besides Zoe.

I did add some extra stuff that wasn't on the episode today (Claire) but yea as you can see I truly love Degrassi and after that little brief intro of the few characters I explained above I bet you can name someone that relates to almost all of them. This show has been on for 14 seasons and I truly love them all. If you want to watch it the new episodes it comes on Tuesdays @ 9 on TeenNick and we can talk about it together.

SSR

In the movie "Equalizer", there was a quote said that really stood out to me. " if you pray for rain, you have to deal with the mud". After hearing that it stuck with me. To me this means that if you want something it wont be easy to get. you will still have to go through the challenges to get it. In life, nothing comes easy.There are challenges in life that not only makes you stronger, but has you learn something about yourself. Then in the end you can look back and celebrate that you did it and reached your goal.

Another thing that I really wanted to talk about was the song Pretty Hurts by Beyonce. This song to me is one of the deepest songs she has ever sung. "Blonder hair, flat chest TV says, Bigger is better. South beach, sugar free Vogue says, Thinner is better". This line shows that the media today has young ladies become unhappy about themselves. But then No matter where you go, at some parts you still wont be good enough. For a model you have to be a certain weight and females are starting to starve themselves and change who they are just to be excepted by society.

 "Are you happy with yourself? (pretty hurts, pretty hurts) Are you happy with yourself? (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)". That is the main question everyone should ask themselves. There is always someone out there who thinks you are perfect just the way you are. All it takes is patience.

ID-- Laws of......

This year one of my favorite classes is Physics. I have always wanted to take this class and I was so happy that they offered it before I graduated because I will be taking this in college. There were students and a teacher who got mad that I didn't choose A.P Biology as my class but I didn't take it because I really needed physics. Ms. Hudson was a physics major and is the perfect teacher. She is so cool and she makes sure class is fin and also makes sure everyone understands whats being taught before moving on. This class is hard but to me it is worth it. Physics is a combination of math and science and those are my 2 favorite subjects. Although the work is starting to get harder, I will not give up in that class. The labs are really fun because you never know whats going to pop up. One time for lab we used monster trucks. I can go on forever about this class but I won't. I sound nerdy for saying this but physics is something I truly love. By the end of the year I want to learn everything including the laws of physics (via title) and all. Love you Ms. Hudson <3 

Passionate Blog

So I am sitting here thinking what I am really passionate about, and I realize that I am passionate about designing. I love designing because it shows your creativity and you never know how nice it comes out until you try it. I volunteer at my church a lot and there are so many events that happen there such as weddings. The bride would usually tell us the colors that she and the bridesmaids  are wearing and we just create the whole scenery. For example if people are getting married in the spring and the bridesmaids are wearing blue and yellow then we would wrap blue ribbons around the chairs, have flowers in a vase with floating candles and so much more. It may not sound all that while reading this but once you see the outcome it is so nice. I help design peoples weddings, parties, and repasts (the gathering after a funeral). 

I truly love doing this because seeing peoples reactions when they see how beautiful everything comes out is breath taking. We also help with the food such as serving. Even though it can be so much work and tiring, I realize that I enjoy doing this. In the future I want something to do with design. If either architecture or interior design doesn't work for me, then I would have to be a wedding planner or some sort of designer because that is what I have been doing for years now. To me you cant really judge creativity. One thing may look bad in ones eyes but in the next its beautiful. Volunteering brought out the creative side of me and I am glad it is out.

Class Related Response (CRR)

So in A.P English we are just doing a lot. Today we just read some essays from the a.p test and graded them. You would think that an essay is good but the little details is what will determine if you will get a high or low grade. It's not about just what you say, it's also about how you say it (your diction). The last year a.p test was extremely hard and I didn't pass and I truly believe that if I take the a.p test this year I still wouldn't pass. Mainly focusing on the essay part I know I will do bad. I am not doubting myself I am speaking the truth. Comparing how I write to the essays that have a 9 on them shows that I need serious help.

We also got a project where every week someone presents and teaches the class about a poem. Poems can be so hard to analyze because once you have your analysis on what you think the poem is and then you do research on the poem, your analysis is completely different from the true analysis and it messes you up. I believe ancient poems are harder to analyze. Also these grammar rules be critical. Every time I think I do good they all come back saying revise like gosh. But I understand they are there to help us fix grammatical mistakes we have been making our whole life on where to put the apostrophe. Well that's all I have to say for now so bye see you soon.

Lil something about me

Hey people. I am Brittney. My birthday is in January. January 20th to be exact. One thing I am addicted to is ice cream. I really like it and eat almost every flavor besides the ones with peanut butter because I don’t like peanut butter. I was so hype when my mom brought some home the other night. I also love the shows Awkward and Degrassi. But forget about that and lemme get to the deep down me. I am actually scared to be a senior. I am so stressed out dealing with homework, family and the college process itself. I am also scared that I won’t get into any of the colleges I apply to. I want to be an architect or an interior designer and most schools require me to make a portfolio. But I felt like I haven’t drawn in so long that when I pick up a pencil and draw, nothing is good enough in my eyes. I have to make sure my portfolio is good enough to be accepted and I also need to increase my SAT scores because they are too low. I am just tight that I am not EOP eligible because my grades are too high, my SAT scores are to low but I fit just right with my financial needs. I am very excited for college not just for the food but for the experience as well.  But know this I will not be going to college in the city because it’s too close unless it’s Pratt Institute because I love that school.  But yea I don’t have anything else to really say so see you soon.
